The Team:
Hiscox has an established operations centre in Lisbon with almost 40 people working for the Spanish Business. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of a fast-growing business unit. The volume of business is rising rapidly, and career opportunities are excellent should individuals demonstrate the skills and success in their roles.
The development plan for Hiscox Spain is very ambitious for the next few years and it is expected that the team will grow at the same pace as the business.
The role:
The Digital Product Owner is a business representative with a strong delivery background, empowered to shape and direct the development of our products/services in a way that maximizes business value. They are also responsible for Value Stream outcomes, prioritizing the work of the team and accepting the solution. The Product Owner will act on our digital channels through several products such as Broker, Client, and Direct Portals.
Key Responsibilities Manage a team of 3 Business Analysts.
Work in collaboration with the Digital Value Stream Sponsor and Business Analysts to define Epics, MVPs, and user stories.
Own the user experience and product direction for their platform/application.
Act as the primary business representative to Value Stream(s) to connect business and technology.
Make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements.
Be responsible for the product backlog, story prioritization, and acceptance criteria.
Work with Solution Architects, Developers, and Business Analysts to plan sprints.
Have a thorough understanding of digital processes and identify areas for process improvement.
Support process streamlining and standardization.
Build strong productive customer-focused relationships with the Business, the Squad, and third parties.
Be an independent thinker and a key contributor in supporting project management towards successful delivery of projects.
Hold requirements gathering sessions, capture meeting minutes, follow up on action items, report backlog status, and own product documentation.
Manage scope creep and clearly communicate with stakeholders on feasibility and effort analysis.
Review test cases and test plans from the System Test team, negotiate testing scope and timelines, review test scripts, and review defects raised.
Drive the UAT with business users, which includes performing some parts of the UAT, providing test scenarios and training to business users, and reviewing defects raised.
Maintain risks and issues logs and actively manage the mitigation strategies.
Person Specification This role will suit you if you are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy delivering enhancements or solutions that drive real business benefit on our digital channels. You will need to be able to think on your feet, ruthlessly prioritize a development backlog, and ensure the squad & your team are clear about the priorities.

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels within and external to the business.
Ability to combine "soft" influencing, persuasion, and consultancy skills with "leadership" qualities that encourage business leaders to positively respond to questions and requests to meet deadlines.
Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills.
Experience of working within a newly formed team, driving stability, performance & individuals' development.
Nice to have Understanding of Insurance processes and terminology is an advantage.
Speaking Spanish would be a real advantage.
