For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for a Demand Planner based in Portugal.
Purpose of this position: Review, understand and update our organisation's demand planning processes on a global scale. Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations) located mainly in Europe and Asia, you will be responsible for planning sales forecasts, analysing demand trends and ensuring an efficient supply chain to meet customer demands.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:
Global Demand Forecasting: Implement and maintain a robust 12-month rolling demand forecasting process based on historical data, market trends and input from various stakeholders (R&D, Sales).
Lead monthly demand reviews with sales, marketing and R&D teams to gather market intelligence and insights to enhance the accuracy of demand forecasts.
Maintain an accurate sales forecast in SAP based on results from the demand reviews.
Summarize and present demand plans by region, key customers and product families.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing and supply chain teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Conduct regular meetings and reviews to assess the accuracy of forecasts and adjust plans accordingly.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting tools to analyze demand patterns and identify opportunities for improvement.
Prepare and present regular reports to management summarizing demand plans and KPIs.
Participate in the selection and implementation of a global demand planning software.
Collaborate with IT teams and global supply chain teams to implement and optimize demand planning systems and reporting.
Inventory Management: Coordinate risk buy process and contractual inventories (safety stocks).
Implement inventory controls to minimize excess or obsolete inventory and ensure inventory turns meet company targets.
THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:
Master's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
Problem-solving mindset
Ability to focus & narrow down large & complex topics
5+ years working as a Supply Chain Project Manager in an international & multisite environment is a must
English: full proficiency, minimum C1
Portuguese: mother language
SAP: 5+ years working on a daily basis
Excel: proficiency required, particularly in using Power Query for efficient data extraction and manipulation.
Power BI: proficiency required, for data visualization and reporting, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights.
