RAY.BBDM is currently managing a search process for SBM Offshore, a large listed multinational company, who is looking for a Delivery Control & Improvement Accountant Manager. SBM Offshore's focus is to design, supply, install, operate and maintain Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels, which are essential to the offshore energy industries. The Delivery Control & Improvement Accountant Manager will be a part of the Corporate & Business Solutions Center of SBM Offshore, which has a global scope of Corporate and Finance activities. Being involved in Delivery Control and in the Optimization of Closing processes, the Delivery Control & Improvement Accountant Manager will report to the Close and Accounting Tower Manager, and will be responsible for:
Ensuring a high level of control in the delivery of financial information prepared by the Close & Accounting teams, on both quarterly balance sheet analysis for Group consolidation purposes and on individual financial statements with notes for the statutory accounts purposes ;
Investigating and deep diving on potential accounting issues or gaps and proposing corrective measures and new controls to ensure those gaps are closed;
Taking responsibility for immediate actions that may be needed;
Being a pivot between the Group Consolidation team and the Accounting teams, actively contributing to specific requests on the quarterly closing periods and also contributing to specific projects involving both teams, outside of the closing periods;
Liaising with various teams (e.g., accounting and, business control)l…) to ensure the reliability and supporting back up of balance sheet balances for all pillars, investigating and clearing potential gaps;
Supporting and actively contributing to the analysis of new significant operations and transactions (accounting treatment and the accounting set-up) in coordination with the different Accounting teams and the Group control team;
Implementing the closing calendar task tool project in close relation with the Innovation team;
Coordinating with Accounting and Innovation teams, the process improvement and optimization actions identified to streamlined, automatized and optimized processes and systems;
Ensuring and regularly updating a proper planning and a prioritization of continuous improvement actions, with the right allocation of resources, while also following up on KPIs;
Managing and coordinating the various improvement processes in the accounting and reporting departments, supporting the teams in the design, implementation and evaluation of improvement processes and tool's optimization;
Identifying and proposing new solutions to enhance and standardize processes;
Actively contributing to the new ERP implementation, acting as a pivot and reference for the ERP dedicated project team, coordinating the accounting teams/activities ;
Managing ad-hoc requests from the Close and Accounting Tower Manager.
Job Requirements:
Relevant academic background in Business, Finance, Accounting or other related areas;
Minimum of 7 years of experience (ideally at least 5 years in an audit or accounting firm, followed by experience in an international group);
Solid accounting (e.g., experience preparing and reviewing detailed financial statements) and IFRS knowledge (especially IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IAS 37);
Statutory accounting knowledge in an international environment;
Consolidation knowledge will be valued;
Agility with tools (ERP and Excel);
Well-developed stakeholder management skills;
Analytical skills and critical thinking (ability to question and challenge assumptions);
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally;
Ability to work under pressure and to meet specific deadlines, in a fast-paced environment;
Proactive team player;
Flexibility for occasional travels;
Availability to work in Porto, Portugal.
