Offer Description The aim is to complete our knowledge of fusion at the top of the Earth's lower mantle in the presence of volatiles (mainly H2O). The experimental approach consists in reproducing laboratory conditions, and constraining the distribution of elements, in particular hydrogen, between minerals and silicate liquid.
The aim of the job is to carry out high-pressure and high-temperature syntheses by varying various intensive parameters. Once the experiments have been completed, the samples will have to be polished and analyzed using the methods available in the laboratory.
The duration of the proposed post-doc contract is initially 6 months. This post-doc is part of an ANR-funded research program (H-DEEP-ISO 2019-2025) that aims to study the speciation and isotopic fractionation of Hydrogen in the deep Earth. The post-doc will be based at the Magmas and Volcanoes Laboratory (LMV) in Clermont-Ferrand, under the supervision of Nathalie Bolfan-Casanova ( https://lmv.uca.fr/fr/ ). The candidate will be integrated into the Experimental Petrology team.
Required Experience Experience in experimental petrology, with particular reference to the multi-cell press
Experience in vibrational spectroscopy: FTIR and Raman
