The position is based in Lisbon. The Chief Compliance Officer for Nickel Portugal will be directly reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer of Nickel
The Chief Compliance Officer of Nickel Portugal is primarily responsible for:
o Providing reasonable assurance to Nickel Chief Compliance Officer, Nickel Portugal management and regulators that adequate policies, procedures, and efficient compliance internal control measures are in place consistent with Nickel's Compliance requirements, characteristics, compliance risks, and in line with applicable laws and regulations
o Establishing standards and implement procedures to ensure that the compliance frameworks throughout the branch are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting noncompliance
o Overseeing compliance within Nickel Portugal and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, Nickel policies and procedures
Your Main Activities are:
Expert activities
o Manage Nickel Portugal's relationship with local regulator
o Adapt BNP Paribas & Nickel Compliance policies, procedures and control plans to Nickel Portugal specificities & local regulatory requirements
o Define the annual compliance work plan that reflects the branch's characteristics & growth
o Manage, review the analysis of suspicious activity alerts and decide on the transmission of suspicious activity reports to competent authorities
o Take decisions as per delegation received on the scope of responsibilities and ensure documentation and tracking of decisions
o Contribute to Compliance Risk Assessment Process, aggregate and report on CPL risks for Nickel Portugal
o Provide recommendations for remediation of identified deficiencies, and collaborate with the business to follow up on timely remediation
o Improve the Compliance permanent control process as necessary
o Providing guidance, advice, and training on compliance topics for Nickel Portugal's staff and stakeholders
o Preparing and presenting clear and concise compliance reports to the Nickel CPL and Nickel Portugal management
Managerial scope:
o Define appropriate governance and organisation within Nickel Portugal taking into account Nickel specificities and local regulations
o Plan, organise, and execute day-to-day operational compliance activities
o Roll-out objectives and validate annual priorities with input from Nickel Compliance
o Represent Compliance Function in Nickel Portugal management committee
o Contribute to Nickel Compliance reporting and Committee
Profil requis Profile and Skills to Success: · 8 years if professional experience in a regulated financial institution with at least a previous position within an internal control function · Understanding of sector environment · General knowledge of applicable regulatory framework · Extensive knowledge of Compliance issues and challenges specific to his/her environment, especially with regards to AML & FT · Integrity & Accuracy · Having a strategic vision · Independent · Problem solving & decision-making capacity · Impact, acting with perspective · Client focus · Reliability · Developing others · Fluency in Portuguese and in English is required Nickel is one of Europe's great success stories in the Fintech industry and has become a well recognized actor for financial inclusion.
