Short Description
Job Title: Carbon Accounting Specialist

Job ID: 34938

Job Location: Portugal, Spain, Italy, Romania

Working pattern: Hybrid set up

Why we need this role
The Carbon Accounting Specialist will be an integral member of the ESG Team, focusing on the centralization and consistency of carbon data across the organization. This role entails measuring, analyzing, and reporting on the global carbon footprint of Colt, requiring the management of complex data sets at various levels, including global, country, site, and project. As such, strong time and stakeholder management skills, along with data analysis expertise, are essential.

The primary objective is to establish a structured, controlled, and integrated approach to carbon data management throughout all Colt functions and at the Group level, thereby embedding our ESG agenda across the business. Additionally, your knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks— such as SBT, CDP and TPT—will be vital in enhancing the collection of datasets, narratives, and evidence for auditing purposes.

What you will do

Centralize Carbon Metrics: Develop a structured approach to capture carbon metrics across all business functions, ensuring centralized reporting capabilities.

Lead Carbon Footprint Calculations: Oversee the carbon footprint calculations for Colt Group in collaboration with our Carbon Consultants, ensuring adherence to best practice financial modeling techniques in alignment with the Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT).

Establish Data Governance: Implement a robust internal carbon data governance framework to maintain centralized control over data inputs and outputs.

Create Sustainability Dashboards: Develop centralized sustainability dashboards that provide insights into performance against targets and highlight areas for improvement.

Enhance Data Visualization: Explore and implement innovative methods to visualize carbon data and narratives, generating new insights to support our global operations while adhering to best practices.

Validate Carbon Reductions: Validate carbon reductions and data at both project and program levels, collaborating with consultants on science-based target roadmaps and managing global data systems.

Streamline Data Processes: Identify opportunities to simplify and automate carbon data collection and reporting narratives, ensuring alignment with best practices in ESG reporting.

What we're looking for

Carbon accounting experience is essential – we need to be able to translate our work into tangible carbon reductions.

Proven experience of ESG reporting, including understanding of key standards – GRI, CDP, Ecovadis, TPT.

Exposure to transition planning and the link between carbon accounting and financial planning is a significant advantage.

Advanced excel skills with the ability to carry out data analysis on environmental data.

Highly experienced in collecting, analysing and producing dashboards to measure ESG performance against targets.

Proven delivery of data visualisation and dashboards with regards to global decarbonisation programmes.
