Offer Description Under the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP, Regulation No. 950/2019, published in Diário da República , 2nd Series, No. 241, of 16 December 2019, a call for the award of 1 (one) Research Grant for Post-Doctoral Researchers within the project titled " Application of AI/ML to Optimize the Formation of TB drug Intermediates ", funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is open under the following conditions:
Scientific Area: Pharmacy, Organic chemistry.
Research Grants Duration: The research will have a duration of 12 months non-renewable , starting in December 2024, on an exclusivity regime .
Work plan: Optimization of synthetic pathways towards anti-TB agents, using flow chemistry and artificial intelligence.
Workplace and Scientific Guidance: The work will be carried out in FARM-ID - Associação da Faculdade de Farmácia para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, under the scientific guidance of Tiago Correia de Oliveira Rodrigues, Associate Professor.

Minimum Requirements PhD in Pharmacy, Organic Chemistry or related areas.
PhD awarded not more than three years to the date of this application.
Have performed the PhD research in an institution different from the host institution in this application.
(1) All higher education degrees and diplomas awarded by foreign institutions need to be recognized by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August.
Preferred Requirements: Knowledge in modern chemistry, analytical methods, and artificial intelligence.
In addition to the monthly maintenance stipend, the grant holder will also be awarded the value corresponding to the payment of the first step of Seguro Social Voluntário (voluntary payment of Social Security), if chosen.
Eligibility criteria Instruction of Application:

Certificate proving possession of a PhD degree in Pharmacy, Organic Chemistry, or related areas;
Declaration of honour stating that there is no professional activity that violates the exclusivity regime ( available on the institutional website );
Letter of motivation indicating experience and adaptation to the work plan (1 page summary);
Contact of two references;
Other supporting documents considered relevant.

Selection process Candidate's Merit: Aims to assess compliance with formal requirements and suitability of the scientific area of training and/or specialization, with a maximum weighting of 100%.
Adequacy of the Scientific Training Area (AACF): Candidates will be ranked based on their background, with a maximum weighting of 50%.
PhD in Pharmacy, Organic Chemistry or related areas (DO) – 0 to 20 values
Training and Experience (FE): Maximum weighting of 30%:
Knowledge of modern organic chemistry and analytical methods (CMMQOMA) - 0 to 20 points.
Specific competencies for the proposed work plan (CEPTP): Maximum weighting of 20%:
Knowledge in artificial intelligence, LCMS, TB biology (CIALCMSBT) – 0 to 20 values;
Ability to communicate in English (CING) – 0 to 20 values.
If necessary, an individual interview will be carried out with the best 2 candidates.
Final Classification: The score obtained results from the sum of points from the Candidate's Merit.
Form of notification of results: All candidates will be notified of the final results by email and will have 10 working days to respond, in accordance with the Code of Administrative Procedure.
