BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as Business Controller at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities Evaluate, update and manage cost management systemsThrough financial data and cost reporting of production lines, work with the Product Line Manager to achieve target financial performance, including participation in cost reduction programsEnsure that all systems (cost and operational) provide accurate, timely and meaningful data (ABC, Balanced Scorecard, standard cost variances, etc.) that contribute to management and decision-making actionsWork with the quote analyst to develop responses that ensure long-term yield growth for the production lineProvide timely notice of all business trends that affect the performance of the business, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, cash flow and operational issuesResponsible for inventory assessment and timely physical inventoryAct as a link between finance, logistics, commercial and IT departmentsParticipate in the management and leadership of the businessMaintain the existing internal control system (SOX) as well as procedures related to cost and inventory systems.Responsible for developing the financial business portfolio supporting any investment in the production lineEstablish continuous improvement plans that lead to a more efficient organizationFacilitate efficient and open communication within the department and with other departments in the organizationEnsure the respect and compliance with the safety and cleanliness rules of the workstationContinuously ensure the improvement of health, safety and environmental conditionsParticipate in the definition, implementation and maintenance of the organization's policiesParticipate in the definition of objectives of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at Work.Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Environmental Management Policy, Health and Safety at WorkEnsure compliance with environmental, health and safety at work standards, policies and practices in accordance with their level of responsibilityDevelop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all areasComply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standardsComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations Code of Ethics, practice and working periodRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rulesPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service Education & Experience Degree in Accounting, Economy or Management or related areasAccounting knowledgeSolid knowledge of national and international accounting standardsMastery of tools and methods for calculating and controlling costsSolid knowledge of the rules of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)Good computer skillsResults OrientedFluent in EnglishFluent in Portuguese EEO Statement
