The Automation Engineer is instrumental in driving efficiency and innovation within the Operations Development Department. As a dedicated specialist, he leads initiatives to simplify and automate processes, ensuring that operational excellence is achieved.
This role requires close collaboration with various specialists to identify and implement opportunities for machine improvements, focusing on critical areas such as quality, scrap reduction, performance optimization, and the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Responsibilities: Carrying out, organising, and managing the daily technical and technological development tasks within the Operations Development Department; Plan and coordinate project activities, including software design, coding, testing, and deployment; Conduct code and design reviews to maintain high development standards and practices; Liaising with external partners as required for technology development tasks; Ensuring documentation of tasks and changes implemented; Supporting the Operations Development Team in troubleshooting and ensuring the continued availability of the production/machines; Supporting the troubleshooting and operation of technical systems used in new production equipment and acquiring the necessary skills; Support the operation of PLC controlled production machines equipped with vision and robot systems; Managing and coordinating projects relating to the development of PLC controlled production machines equipped with vision and robot systems; Budgeting solutions; Preparing and publishing reports on technological development tasks; Self-training and active participation in training courses organised by the Plant, applying the knowledge acquired in the daily work. Minimum Requirements: Degree in Electrotechnics or Automation, with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a related position; Good communication skills, both written and spoken, in English. Level: B1 – Intermediate (based on the Common European Framework); Experience in maintaining automated industrial machines; Experience in Project Management is a plus; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Good communication skills and a team player; Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical); Knowledge of PLC programming in at least one of the following technologies: RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, CX Programmer, Simatic Step 7, Sigma Drives, Kinetix, Accurax, Indramat, Elau, Trio. Able to install and uninstall electrical components; HMI knowledge is preferred; Knowledge of interpreting pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams is preferred; Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
