European Union / Next Generation EU Offer Description PUBLIC NOTICE/0057/2024 PUBLIC NOTICE FOR AN INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE POST OF APPLIED RESEARCH ASSISTANT The Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Prof. Dr. Isabel Capeloa Gil, hereby announces the opening of an international call for applications for one vacancy of applied research assistant to perform duties of assistance on innovative bakery and pastry products with reduced/total replacement of chemical additives and improved nutritional and organoleptic quality (with an exclusivity clause), in the scientific field of Microbiology. The research activities will be carried out at the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF), integrated at the Faculty of Biotechnology of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Porto, within the framework of the Project Integrated in Agenda VIIAFOOD – Platform for Valorization, Industrialization and Commercial Innovation for Agri-Food, (n.º C644929456-00000040) in its component 5 – Capitalization and Business Innovation, under the Regulation of the Incentive System "Agendas for Business Innovation" and Invitation Notice n. 02/C05-i01/2022, and specifically in the sub-project "Development of preservative free preparations to the pastry industry with natural ingredients, financed through the Program for Recovery and Resilience (PRR). Within the scope of this project, and for an estimated period of 14 months, the Applied Research Assistant will be responsible for carrying out the following activities in order to achieve the overall objective of solving the technological challenges of producing bakery products with reduced/total replacement of chemical additives and improving their nutritional and organoleptic quality: Development of formulations with the replacement of synthetic additives/ingredients; Characterization of theformulations and determination of shelf-life; Validation of functional prototypes; Dissemination of the scientific results. 2. Workplace The workplace is located at the Porto facilities of Universidade Católica Portuguesa. 3. Remuneration Gross monthly pay is 1319,21 euros, plus meal allowance, to which will be added annual leave and Christmas allowances. 4.
