You will add value and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements. This includes performing month-end activities, calculating and posting journals (including accruals), GL account reconciliations, reviewing and analysing the General Ledger.What you'll do?Process the cash remittances application (cash allocation) on a daily basis.Preparation of reports that detail balances due or what to collect from customers at a certain point in time.Support the AR aging analysis with operational information examining balance statements of accountholders.Prepare credit / collection reports.Work closely with other Finance teams, such as the GL team, in the provision of support to colleagues.Ensure feedback to line manager.Execution of month-end task of assigned market: AR reconciliations, reports, ageing, booking of AR entries/documents, etc.Propose changes to processes, continuous improvement mindset.Participation and lead when required Team projects.What are we looking for?Proven experience as an accountant.Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.Strong financial, analytical and communication skills.Self-organisation and time management.Knowledge of ERP systems, processes and workflow technology.Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.Language Skills: EnglishGKN Automotive is the global leader in drive systems.GKN Automotive in Porto:Established in 2020, our Global Business Services (GBS) is located at the heart of Porto (Hipercentro Areosa Business Park), where our 300+ employees provide support on a global level within areas of Finance, Procurement, HR and IT (to name a few).
