As Accountant for Portugal, you will be working for an office important to the Group Profitability.
You will prepare and examine financial records and reports for management and the Group if required. You will be comfortable challenging as appropriate and deliver all management information to the teams in a timely and proactive manner which you will clearly articulate locally and at Group level.
Main duties
Complying with all company, local and Government accounting, and financial regulations.
Document financial transactions by entering account information on a certified program.
Presenting financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data and preparing reports, i.e balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information.
Recommends financial actions by analysing accounting options.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.
Bank reconciliations.
Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Work with external auditors.
Performing risk analysis evaluations.
Computing taxes.
Ideal Candidate
Professionally qualified accountant (CC preferred) or qualified by experience.
Excellent communicator, with both internal and external colleagues at all levels.
Hard-working, efficient, resilient and motivated by results.
Bi-lingual (Portuguese and English).
