Offer DescriptionWork Plan: The fellow will work on the production of recombinant proteins, their processing into materials, as well as the development and optimization of biosensors.
Fellowship duration: The Scholarship will have a duration of 12 months, starting in January 2025. The scholarship contract may be renewed within the duration of the project.
Application deadline and form of application submission: The call is open from 10th December to 23rd December 2024.

Note: In case of foreign academic degrees, it is mandatory to submit the recognition of such degrees and the conversion of the respective final grade to the Portuguese grading scale.

RequirementsEducation Level: Master Degree or equivalent
Mandatory requirements: This Scholarship is intended for candidates with a Masters degree in Biotechnology and related areas. Applicants must be enrolled in a non-academic degree course integrated in an educational project of a Higher Education Institution.
Preferred factors: Experience in the proposed topic and methodologies, and good command of the English language will be considered favorably. Experience of participating in projects and research teams, as well as experience and enthusiasm in production and characterization of proteins by recombinant means, processing of proteins into materials, and use of biosensor proteins will be considered favorably.
Additional InformationMonthly maintenance allowance amount: The Scholarship amount corresponds to €1,259.64 based on the table of scholarship values awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the country, with the payment made monthly by bank transfer.
Selection processSelection criteria: Scientific merit – 40%Adequacy of the candidate's profile for the project – 30%Motivation and professional experience relevant to the development of the project – 30%All these criteria are evaluated on a scale of 0 to 20 values (0 – minimum, 20 – maximum).

Form of advertising/notification of results: The evaluation results proposed by the jury will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, including access to the minutes and the final ranking list.
After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision. The final decision will be taken after this period, and again notified to all candidates by e-mail.
Of this final decision, candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days or an hierarchical appeal within 30 working days.
