Responsibilities: Review and interpret industry and customer specifications, requirements and trends related to automotive wire.Maintain company technical information and instructions to reflect industry requirements and best practices.Evaluate and interpret technical information provided by the customer/supplier in support of design engineering, testing, manufacturing, and purchasing decisions.Participate as SME (subject matter expert) and advisor in product design and manufacturing process reviews.Follow, analyze, manage, and support efforts related to regional technology issues (wire, cover, joining technique).Review of competitors' solutions, investigating the research activity of other manufacturing companies, research institutes, and universities.Work with the wider engineering community to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels including other companies, universities, and research institutes.Establish international collaborations and partnerships among experts globally.Research emerging systems and methodologies and relate it with impacts into the company business processes recognizing as well future needs and developments.Effectively communicate complex technical subjects and issues to technical and non-technical audiences to support understanding, discussion, and decision making.Provide technical expertise and work closely with other engineers, and be able to apply engineering knowledge and principles to devise solutions to problems.Authoring and publishing of technical specifications and requirements for EEEDS product design, processing, and product manufacturing.Lead or support other projects, tasks, and/or duties as assigned by leadership.Support training and education of internal staff by establishing learning contents and creation of learning materials on automotive wire, cover products, and joining techniques.Candidate's Profile: Minimum 5 years of experience in specific technical field of practice as relates to automotive engineering, design, or product development.Wire Harness design knowledge is preferred as well as other areas of Vehicle Program Support.Review, revise and update existing company technical information and instructions.Effectively communicate complex technical subjects and issues to technical and non-technical audiences.Thorough understanding of area of technical expertise applied to context of customer design and performance requirements.At Yazaki, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for everyone which extends to all aspects of the employment relationship.
