Description
As a Product UX/UI Designer, you will be responsible for designing intuitive and engaging user experiences for our carbon accounting product. You will work closely with designers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate complex data and methodologies into user-friendly designs.
Key Responsibilities
Research: Understand the needs, behaviours, and pain points of our target audience. Gather and/or utilise insights captured through surveys, interviews, usability testing, and analytics to improve and develop designs.
Visual Design: Deliver end to end UX/UI. Utilise, understand and apply company wide design systems creating a consistent visual design language that aligns with our brand. Create visually appealing and cohesive UI designs. Ability to create custom components where required.
Data visualisation: Design clear and effective data visualisations to interpret carbon data.
Translate complex methodology: Ability to understand and translate complex data flows into usable front end designs. Create intuitive and efficient workflows for users to input data, analyse, and report carbon data.
Accessibility: Accessibility knowledge, ensuring all designs adhere to accessibility standards WCAG2.1 AA, including responsive design.
Prototyping: Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups to illustrate user flows and interactions.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, product management and development teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet user needs.
User Testing: Work with our UX researcher to plan usability testing sessions to gather feedback, verify assumptions and identify areas for improvement. Iterate on designs based on user feedback and data.
Documentation: Prepare detailed design specifications and guidelines to ensure consistent implementation across the product. Document journey maps and design rationale.
Qualifications
Experience: 6-9 years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably with experience in designing data-driven software products.
Carbon Accounting/Sustainability: Some knowledge in carbon accounting/sustainability software is not required but would be preferable.
Skills:
Design Tools: Proficiency in Figma.
User-Centred Design: Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and best practices.
User Research: Experience working with UX researchers, user research methodologies and usability testing, utilising findings to improve designs.
Visual Design and problem solving: Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about user needs and design solutions.
Communication: Ability to communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders.
Accessibility: Knowledge and experience creating accessibility driven designs.
Prototyping: Expert in creating interactive prototypes in Figma to illustrate design concepts and aid usability testing.
Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Front-End Knowledge: Basic understanding of front-end development principles is a plus.
Behavioural science: Knowledge and experience embedding behavioural science principles into design is a plus.
Portfolio : A strong portfolio showcasing your UX/UI design work, including case studies that demonstrate your design process and problem-solving skills.
