A fantastic new position has been created within VITEC! We're looking for a talented UX Designer to join our well-established Product Management team. This role would suit someone with a proven track record of experience in Graphic Design, Product User Experience (UX/UI) Client User Interface Design – associated to Human-Computer Interaction. The role is based at our new office in Porto, Portugal but regular travel to customer sites, tradeshows, conferences and other company office locations is expected. A good level of English is required.
We're looking for someone to come in and shape and develop a seamless user-friendly experience across our range of software technology products with the goal of having all our products having the same look and feel.
About the role
As a member of VITEC's Product Management Team, the User Experience (UX) Designer is responsible for creating intuitive and engaging user interfaces for the web-based software platforms. The UX Designer will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to create wireframes, prototypes, and user interfaces that enhance the usability and functionality of products. This position reports directly to the Head of Product Management for Platforms.
What you'll do:
Conduct user research to understand customer needs, behaviours, and pain points. Utilize methods such as surveys, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights.
Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes to illustrate design concepts and user flows. Use tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
Design user interfaces that are visually appealing and consistent with our brand identity. Ensure designs are responsive and accessible across different devices and screen sizes.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketing, to ensure designs align with business goals and technical requirements.
Plan and conduct usability testing sessions. Analyse and present findings to inform design improvements.
Develop and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency across products.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design. Continuously seek feedback and iterate on designs to improve the user experience.
Support outbound marketing activities such as tradeshows, conferences, panels and discussions with strategic integrators and partners.
About you:
Bachelor's degree in UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Experienced in UX/UI design, preferably with experience in designing for web-based software platforms.
Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar.
Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and practices.
Experience with HTML/CSS and basic front-end development is a plus.
Ability to work on own initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers.
Experience working with global or multi-cultural teams and customers is a plus.
