A call for applications, with the reference Be.Neutral-27/2024, is now open for the attribution of one research grant - master - within the scope of the "Be.Neutral - Agenda de Mobilidade para a neutralidade carbónica nas cidades" (n.º 02-C05-i01.02-2022.PC644874240-00000016), financed by PRR (Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência), through IAPMEI - Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação.

Recipient category : Students with a master degree who, on the date of their hiring, prove their enrollment in one of the following courses:
PhD (in the area or area related to the request in the notice);
Non-conferring degree course, integrated in the educational project of the institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units (e.g., postgraduate studies, advanced studies, specialized training).
Requirement for granting the fellowship : Candidates must have, at the time of application, a master degree in the area requested or in a related area. Proof of enrolment will be verified on the date of contracting the scholarship.
Candidates profile :
a) Mandatory Requirements
Academic qualifications in scientific areas of the project - Industrial Electronics and Computers or related fields;
Not benefiting from a non-degree research grant for an accumulated period of 2 consecutive or interpolated years;
Proof of academic qualifications completed by the deadline for applications.
b) Preferred Factors
Knowledge of embedded systems and advanced microprocessors' architectures.
Applicants eligibility : Applicants must comply with the eligibility conditions laid down in article 9 of the Research Grants Regulation of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (2019).
Workplan and objectives to be achieved: The work plan is included in WP2 - "Plataformas de Gestão de serviços de mobilidade e conectividade", focusing on the development and assessment of connectivity devices (embedded systems).
Research Grant duration : The grant will take place for a period of 6 months, with a provisional starting in December, 2024. The scholarships contract may eventually be renewed up to the maximum limit of the duration of the project.
Amount of the research grant : The value stipend (Monthly Maintenance Allowance) is 1259,64 €/month.
Selection panel : The Jury is composed by the following elements:
President: Doctor Jorge Miguel Nunes dos Santos Cabral, Associate Professor of the Industrial Electronic Department, School of Engineering, University of Minho;
Effective members: Doctor Tiago Manuel Ribeiro Gomes, Assistant Professor; Doctor Paulo Francisco Silva Cardoso, Assistant Professor.
Criteria and procedures for applications assessment and selection: The applications assessment will focus on the merit of the candidate, following the selection methods, valued on a scale of 0 to 20 values.
