For the Service Management and Organization department of the Communication and Information Centre (kiz), we are looking for a

With around 140 employees, kiz is the second largest central institution at Ulm University and provides services for research, teaching, studies and administration in the areas of library, information technology and media.
Within kiz, the position offered is assigned to the Service Management & Organization department. The department is responsible for various cross-sectional functions within kiz's range of tasks. There is also operational collaboration in the Desktop & Client Services team in the Infrastructure department. The Infrastructure department is responsible for the entire network infrastructure, the provision of basic IT equipment, a high-performance computing cluster and other system-related services provided by a modern IT center.
Your profile:
Training as an IT specialist or comparable qualification In-depth knowledge of Windows client operating systems & PC hardware detailed knowledge of PC hardware, the service catalog & user knowledge of ITSM tools Basic knowledge of the ITIL framework, in particular the processes and functions in the service desk area as well as the tools and mechanisms for centralized maintenance of widely distributed PC installations (remote control, remote installation, remote diagnosis) Basic knowledge of IP networks, IP routers and Ethernet switches as well as administration and network guidelines Very good German language skills and basic knowledge of English Strong teamwork skills, ability to work under pressure, independent working style and strong communication skills Your tasks:
Recording and processing customer inquiries received by phone, email or online in the ticket system Categorize tickets by ticket type (incident or request), service and priority Process requests, analyze incidents from services (especially IT services), determine causes, research solutions in knowledge databases, develop solutions for technical problems of medium difficulty yourself Installing PC hardware and Windows operating systems Analyzing and rectifying everyday faults and errors on PCs using modern diagnostic systems as well as maintaining PC hardware and rectifying faults by replacing defective components Operating IT applications for automated and remote-controlled software distribution and software installation in compliance with administration guidelines using Opsi We offer:
