The Town of Bucksport is seeking applicants for the position of truck driver/laborer with the Town Highway Department. This is a full-time position with a starting pay of $21.93 per hour, along with annual cost of living and longevity increases. The town offers health, life, retirement, and short-term disability benefits, as well as two weeks of vacation time to start and 8 hours of sick time per month, with required overtime primarily in the winter season. The work schedule consists of a 4 ten-hour day work week from April 1 to Labor Day, and a 5 eight-hour day work week for the remainder of the year.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a Class 2 driver's license, and three years of experience in the operation of vehicles of at least 5 tons, along with a good driving record. A pre-employment physical and drug test paid for by the Town will be required for the chosen applicant to ensure that they are capable of meeting the physical requirements of the job.
