Offer Description The textile heritage has barely been investigated, particularly in rural and mountain areas. This field of study is of great interest for several reasons:
It presents both material and immaterial dimensions, serving as a paradigm for studying other tangible heritages.
It encompasses the processes and techniques of growing and collecting raw materials, manufacturing fabrics, and their decoration.
It relates to everyday life narratives, as well as festive and identity expressions.
It is a constantly evolving heritage, open to innovations from current designers.
Generating a reference methodology for studying this complex heritage is a crucial objective. Investigating it in rural and mountain areas allows for the assessment of adaptive and sustainable responses to these environments. The textile industry significantly impacts the ecological footprint through manufacturing and textile waste management. Thus, the required methodology must be based on analyzing diverse contents and sources, with ethnographic fieldwork being essential.
