The Test Manager works in a customer-facing role alongside the internal project engineering and project management teams to clarify testing requirements, coordinate test execution, develop customer-facing test plans, results, and reports. They also engage in tracing and resolving any testing-related issues.This person is responsible for maintaining and reviewing test plans. They will track the outputs and defects of test execution, reporting these to the project teams. Tests will be traceable to user requirements to facilitate project reporting.The role incorporates personnel and workload management of test engineers who will assist in the test executions.Location:We welcome applications from candidates based in either Berkshire, South East England, or Porto in Portugal.This is an office-based vacancy, and as such, we expect all applicants to be willing to relocate or commute to our offices a minimum of 3-4 days per week as per our hybrid working policy.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanCreate and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers, change engineers, and product managers) to understand release schedules and the level of need for testing.TestIdentify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.Perform usability and locale-based testing on interfaces within a pre-production environment.Perform manual testing.Resolve and DocumentInvestigate the causes of non-conforming software and resolve issues.Maintain test results.Produce training documentation/guidance as required to avoid recurrence of defects/issues identified in the QA process.ImproveStay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.Regularly review and devise improved processes, testing tools/systems.Team leadership and development.Motivate, lead, coach, train, and support the team to deliver exceptional project delivery.Proactively prepare colleagues for next career opportunities through succession plans.Champion a culture of recognizing and rewarding the right colleague behaviors.Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in a relevant subject (2:1 or above).Good experience in a software testing role.Proven ability to manage, teach, and motivate others.Good experience working in a customer-facing role.Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes.Experience with usability, performance, and/or security testing.Good organizational skills and time management.Able to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans/cases/reports.Good communication skills, able to convey technical information clearly.
