Role Overview Reporting to the MAS Team Lead you will build new features and maintain the payments backend solution. Our payments backend ensures funds are delivered on time to merchants creating a seamless payment experience to the consumer. It is a mission critical system that must reliably process millions of transactions within short time boundaries.
What you will do Working in an agile team to define the acceptance criteria, identify risk, and build test plan coverage for upcoming features.
Design, build and maintain the test automation stack for mission critical systems in the payments space.
Ensure mission critical systems constantly address non-functional requirements.
Who you are Experienced in taking ownership of tasks, commitments, quality, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented team player with a desire to work on a small team and mentor team members when necessary.
Able to efficiently break down problems and leverage business resources to establish a clear path toward customer value despite the presence of ambiguity.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate intent to other developers through code.
A solid foundation in software engineering – bachelor's degree preferred with 3+ years of experience.
Familiar with Quality Processes and Agile Methodologies using industry standards of software QA tools.
Experience in Web Software, ideally in the Java Spring world.
Experience with load and performance testing tools like JMeter is a plus.
Knowledge about Software development lifecycle and test processes/flows.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins) and source control systems (GIT).
You have transitioned teams from no tests to a balanced automated test strategy.
You can teach the backend developers a lesson about dependency injection and design patterns for building testable systems.
You know how to run automated test suites in a pull request in K8s environment.
You understand what a test harness is and how to build it.
You understand the challenges of integration testing with databases in a containers world, can explain the different approaches and implement them.
You have built a load and performance test suite for high volume systems, and you are able to identify and debug performance bottlenecks.
Knowledge of clearing and settlement especially with Visa and Mastercard VAP and MIP interfaces.
Experience with IST/Clearing from FIS is a plus.
