FCCN is a unit of FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Foundation for Science and Technology) - with the primary mission of equipping the Portuguese academic and research communities with the technological means to produce excellent science and knowledge. We are committed to ensuring Technology for Knowledge. To help us in this mission, we intend to reinforce our team with a Systems Administrator. Responsibilities:
User support to optimize the virtualization solution offering – OpenStack, Ceph, Kubernetes/Rancher; Support in the development and maintenance of user applications (use cases); Physical interventions in data centers (assemblies, disassemblies, etc.); Opportunity to work in medium-scale technological architectures, in data centers with several hundred kilowatts; Support in the maintenance and development of the technical team's projects.
We are looking for people with the skills and experience described below, but especially those interested in the technological field and motivated to take on the challenge of being part of a highly specialized team and serving the education and research community, contributing to developing quality and innovative services.
Main requirements Experience and/or knowledge in Linux and Windows operating systems; Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar; Experience in scripting, Shell script and Ansible; Knowledge in virtualization solutions based on OpenStack/KVM, XenServer/XCP-ng, Kubernetes, and Ceph storage is valued. Nice to have Driver's license (preferred); Knowledge of data center management (preferred).
