We supply medicines and medical products that improve the lives of animals. This role is key to ensuring product availability. Responsible for leading, coaching and developing a team of 5 Supply & Purchasing managers. You will ensure product availability across c.80 contract manufacturers and c.800 Sku's. Supporting direct operations in 7 countries and indirect operations via our distribution partners in 40 more countries. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about working with their team to continuously improve our supply chain processes and systems. The ideal candidate will be results orientated, a strong communicator, with the ability to effectively collaborate cross functionally to deliver the best business outcome.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership:Lead and inspire a high-performing supply & purchasing team.Delegate tasks effectively, fostering collaboration and accountability.Mentor team members, nurturing their growth and development.Continuously improve processes and drive system optimisation.Led and encourage change across the supply chain team.Supply Chain Optimization:Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners (Contract Manufacturers, commercial teams, Logistics, Demand planning) to synchronize supply and demand. Driving product availability and supporting sales.Develop and lead the supply element of the Sales & operations planning process, ensuring capacity and supply risks are understood and mitigated. Delivering excellent product availability.Own inventory within the business. Creating the inventory Forecast and Optimisation plans to achieve our inventory goals. Developing and ensuring delivery of our inventory initiatives.Ensure excellent communication of supply risks and resolution dates across the business.Work with supply chain team and cross functionally (Product development, commercial teams, Regulatory, Quality) to support the introduction of new products.System optimisation & enhancements:Lead the Supply team to ensure effective MRP operation, including ensuring system set up and master data reviews.Support business wide activities to drive improvements in master data, to support improvements in business reporting and insights.Work with the business IT team to drive enhancements in our use of SAP S/4.Own Supply planning & procurement analytics; developing the business needs and working to deliver initiatives with ITStrategic Procurement:Lead the team in developing and implementing robust purchasing strategies aligned with organizational goals.Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement the manufacturing strategy.Support Supply chain risk management, identifying potential vulnerabilities and working to mitigate risks.Vet and onboard key suppliers, ensuring, strong governance, Quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.Support wider business aims in terms of Environment, Sustainability & governance initiatives.Supplier Management:Negotiate win-win deals with suppliers, maximizing value while minimizing costs.Drive supply improvements, through collaborative relationshipsIdentify cost-saving opportunities.Implement lean practices to enhance efficiency.Data-Driven Insights:Leverage data analytics to make informed decisions.Analyze supplier performance, lead times, and market trends.Use insights to optimize inventory management and mitigate risks.Qualifications:Highly Proficient at English Language.Proven experience (5+ years) in supply planning, procurement, or purchasing roles.Previous experience managing a team.Strong negotiation skills and a knack for building lasting supplier relationships.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in supply chain software (SAP S/4, SAP SAC, BPC, SAP analysis for SAP Analysis for Microsoft, MRP, etc.).Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Previous Life science experience a positive.Certification (CIPS, APICS, etc.) is a plus.If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, apply in English via LinkedIn or contact Maartje Kuijper by mail: ****** receive a lot of applications so it is not possible to reply to everyone but if successful you will hear from us.As an equal opportunity organization, we recruit, employ, train, compensate and promote without regard to race, religion, creed, colour, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, disability or any other basis.#J-18808-Ljbffr
