Specialist IS Business System Analyst – R&D WHAT YOU WILL DO As a Specialist IS Business Systems Analyst at Amgen, you will function as a business analyst and collaborate closely with statisticians, data scientists, data engineers, AI/ ML engineers. Together, we analyze the latest industry trends and business requirements, creating, implementing, and scaling innovative technology to continually build and strengthen our clinical data foundation to support Amgen Global Development Mission and Initiatives. You will analyze business requirements and design information systems solutions. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand business needs, identify system enhancements, and drive system implementation projects. Your solid experience in business analysis, system design, and project management will enable you to deliver innovative and effective technology products.
Key Responsibilities: Maintains in-depth knowledge of clinical development business domains with an emphasis in the Clinical Patient Study Data CDISC data models, data pipelines, Clinical Design & Analysis as well as an understanding of the multi-functional dependencies.Serve as BA to work with product owner and business and DTI team members to continuously build and implement Clinical Patient Data platform (clinical patient data storage and process, data security and governances, structured SDTM and ADaM clinical data harmonization) to support Amgen global development and Precision Medicine initiatives.Responsibilities include process and systems analysis, requirements elicitation, articulating system solutions and approaches for addressing business needs.Technology Evaluation: Collaborate closely with business partners to evaluate and adopt ground breaking AI/ ML and cloud technologies to address clinical development business needs. Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree

Master's degree and 2 years of Information Technology experience
or
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Technology experience
Preferred Qualifications: Training or education degree in biology, or chemistry.A solid foundation in modern software design and engineering practices and business analysis. Demonstrable experience in understanding and gathering business requirements and delivering insight, and achieving concrete business outcomes.Technical Proficiency: Good understanding of the following technologies: Python, R, AI/ML frameworks, relational databases/data modeling, AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, IAM), Docker and CI/CD/Gitlab, Apache/Databricks.Solid understanding and experience of clinical development process within Life Sciences (global clinical trial data sources, SDTM & AdaM, end-to-end clinical data design and analysis pipeline, clinical data security and governance).Experience in Agile product development as a participating member of a scrum team and related ceremonies and processes.Ability to collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to deliver functional business requirements as well defining product roadmap.High learning agility, demonstrated ability to quickly grasp ever changing technology and clinical development domain knowledge and apply it to project work.Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, presenting and time management skills.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT OF US As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, so we work to care for our teammates' professional and personal growth and well-being.
