As a Sous Chef / Junior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen team in maintaining consistently excellent standards. Responsibilities: Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating meet the highest quality standards and are served promptly.
Manage inventory and stock, monitoring usage, and coordinating with suppliers to maintain ingredient availability.
Assume the role of Head Chef in their absence, overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring efficient service.
Ensure kitchen staff follow standards, procedures, rules, and health and safety requirements, maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment.
Manage kitchen shifts, coordinating with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
Assist the Head Chef and collaborate in menu planning, recipe development, and the creation of new dishes.
Provide guidance and training to kitchen staff, ensuring their professional growth and promoting teamwork and quality food production.
Support the Head Chef in managing related issues, resolving conflicts, and addressing performance concerns.
Collaborate with the restaurant manager to ensure excellent service and seamless coordination between the kitchen and front of house, and overall guest satisfaction.
Assist in the maintenance and functionality of kitchen equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs.
Perform other duties as directed by the Head Chef or management team.
Requirements: Be a native or fluent English speaker with a C1 level proficiency. Display effective communication skills in English. The ability to convey information clearly, follow instructions, and interact professionally with colleagues and the public is essential.
Exceptional cooking skills and a minimum of 3 years of kitchen experience.
Proven experience in kitchen management, demonstrating leadership abilities and the ability to oversee kitchen operations effectively.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.
