Position: Solar & Energy Storage Project EngineerLocation: LisbonAbout the Role:We are working on behalf of a leading renewable energy developer in Europe to identify a highly motivated Solar & Energy Storage Project Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of solar and energy storage (BESS) projects, driving the energy transition across Europe.As part of a fast-growing organization, the successful candidate will lead renewable energy projects from initial planning to full implementation, engaging with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.Key Responsibilities:Manage the lifecycle of solar and BESS projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning.Oversee permitting processes at regional and national levels, ensuring compliance with regulations and securing land agreements.Evaluate potential project sites, focusing on solar exposure, grid accessibility, and site viability.Develop and maintain relationships with utilities, regulators, grid operators, and community representatives.Lead interconnection studies and negotiate agreements with transmission providers.Collaborate with engineering, procurement, legal, and finance teams to optimize project delivery.Research and analyze innovative technologies, including hybrid energy solutions, within the solar and BESS sectors.Regularly update project status and pipeline reports for senior management.Stay informed on market trends and competitors, particularly in energy storage.Qualifications and Skills:A minimum of 3 years' experience in project management within the energy or renewable energy sector.In-depth knowledge of the Portuguese energy market and its regulatory framework.Technical expertise in solar and BESS technologies, including permitting and construction processes.Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools like PVsyst, QGIS, and AutoCAD is a plus.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
