The Team: The London Market tech team is a modern, agile technology department seeking to work as closely as possible with our colleagues across the company to deliver true business value in an agile fashion. We are a group of engineers (software, data, quality), data scientists and agile practitioners. We organise ourselves into chapters according to these professional disciplines. You would be joining our quality engineering chapter. The Role: The primary focus for this role is to be a key and influential member of our London Market Software Engineering with a focus on Software Engineering, offering dedicated support to our various Innovation squads as we create new "Cloud First" solutions to add value to the business.
There are key scrum ceremonies to attend such as daily stand up but the squad is responsible for the timing of these and the flexibility of the hours they work in a day. Coupled with hybrid working this should enable you to enjoy a comfortable work-life balance. Key Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with stakeholders and your squad to deliver value Mentor and coach less experienced engineers in the wider team Support engineers with your expertise and opinions within your squad to drive forward delivery Produce technical design for change or to support requirements Work with engineers across squads to develop and evolve our architecture Ensure code is peer reviewed, unit tested and delivered through automated pipelines all the way through to the live environments Ensure your code is secure Suggest ways for all engineers to work smarter Tech Stack .Net Azure Functions Azure SQL Db Azure Storage Azure APIM Azure Service Bus (topics and queues) Blazor Angular/AngularJS Service Fabric (on prem) Service Bus (on prem) SQL (on prem) WPF (on prem) Training and support will be provided for areas of the tech stack that you aren't familiar with so if you have the "must have" skills, let's talk about your future career within our business. Main requirements C# Working knowledge of Azure technologies – Azure Functions, Azure SQL Db, Azure Storage, Azure APIM, Azure Service Bus (topics & queues) CI/CD Pipelines Source Control/Branching Strategies Unit testing JSON SQL Graduate in a technical discipline.
