In this instance, we are on the lookout for a/an Construction Manager to lead projects in the Oil & Gas sector in Portugal.
Location: Sines, Portugal.
Work Modality: on-site work.
Responsibilities: Attend daily and weekly meetings to monitor project progress.
Oversee and validate the construction execution plan and the progress of daily work.
Coordinate, supervise, and manage on-site construction activities through supervisors.
Review the EPCM contractor's weekly and monthly reports on contract status, project costs, and potential changes.
Collaborate with the EPCM contractor to ensure productivity goals are met and emerging issues are resolved.
Coordinate the integration of construction activities with different departments, such as engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance.
Ensure that safety and quality standards are met on site.
Analyze and mitigate construction risks.
Provide technical support to the EPCM contractor and the project manager.
Assist in the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases.
Participate in the completion and close-out of the project.
Requirements: University degree in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and controlling construction projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
Experience managing schedules, budgets, and the performance of contractors and suppliers, as well as reviewing and managing contractual terms, with a focus on risk minimization.
Experience in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders (EPCM, subcontractors, suppliers).
Knowledge of cost management and detection of delays in project progress.
Advanced proficiency in project planning tools such as Primavera P6 , MS Project , and SAP .
Proficiency in English (C1 level).
