We are looking for a Signalling Test and Comissioning Engineer to integrate our Railway Signalling Project team, working in a global project with a high level of complexity and key to the future endeavours for the Ground Transportation Systems business area.
As a Signalling Test and Commisioning Engineer , you will be responsible to carry out the Field T&C activities of our Hitachi Rail Interlocking and ETCS solutions in turn-key projects for national and international customers. You will be a key part of Hitachi Rail's technical specialist team located in Paço de Arcos, Portugal. Your work involves solving complex technical issues and assisting with expertise in ongoing projects, preparing and implementing solutions in technical projects, responding to customer needs, and ensuring best practices within Hitachi Rail Signalling Systems.
Key tasks as a Signalling Test and Commisioning Engineer:
To be responsible for the execution and/or supervision of the Test and Commissioning activities of the Signalling Projects, in accordance with the technical instructions provided by Engineering and the deadlines and project planning negotiated by the Project;
To do the planning, execution and/or supervision of the test and commissioning activities of the Signalling Projects;
To monitor the activity of the project sub-contractors referring to schedule, work quantity, quality and safety rules, for the Relays Interlocking's;
To participate in work meetings with the customer for the planning of the commissioning activities;
To coordinate with the customer and the Project Manager the Traffic Interdiction Requirements;
To do the site test plans according to the Company test procedures;
To execute the preliminary and final acceptance site tests and ensure readiness for Commissioning of the systems;
To do the control of system software configuration and the software upgrade evolution;
To give to the customer the information about the tests conclusion and the indication for the Commissioning;
Work closely with Hitachi Rail internationally to tailor solutions and ensure implementation of our systems according to customer's country regulations;
Develop and propose innovative solutions to meet customer requirements in relevant areas.
Qualifications:
Electrotechnical Engineering Degree, minimum 3 years experience in T&C or similar functions;
Hands-on mentality;
Base knowledge in automation, including:
Electronic or relay-based command and control systems;
Sensors;
Basic knowledge in power supply dimensioning;
Possess professional expertise, as well as interest in business development;
Fluency in Portuguese and English, both orally and in writing;
Availability for international travels.
