We are looking for a dynamic high performer to join our fast-paced Team. A focused Service Engineer, Mechatronic professional will complete our pool of resources in the Mediterranean Region.
The preferred location for the position is in Esposende, but also considering from North & Central of Portugal.
The successful applicants must be authorized to work in Portugal without sponsorship.
What Will You Be Doing
As a Service Engineer - Mechatronics, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechatronic systems and equipment related to our products. On a typical day, you might be attending to our external and internal customers, in Portugal or other countries through the Wärtsilä Network, in order to solve issues or provide proper solutions. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independence, as you will have the support of the different areas according to the demand of the services.
As Service Engineer Mechatronic, your work will focus on these responsibilities: Carry out complex field service activities in electrical and automation related to Wärtsilä's products, including their commissioning, trial tests, adjustments, repair and maintenance.Perform advanced troubleshooting on site to isolate and find root causes of failures in electrical and automation equipment. Keep track of work details and provide detailed reports, including all the necessary details (measurements, photos, way of working, investigations, etc.).Perform internal and external progress reporting on the status of assigned work. Keep track and provide the accounting of time, together with the spare parts to be used.Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical engineering and experience with industrial automation systems, applied in the Marine and power plant scope.Ready to travel on short notice and be away from home for 80% of the working time.Requirements For The Position: High School / Diploma or equivalent in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Solid technical background in mechatronic systems.Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues with mechatronic systems.Experience with programmable logic controllers, frequency drives, electrical protection devices, computer systems, ethernet networks, firewalls and OPC-servers, etc.Proficient in both oral and written English communication.Willing to travel extensively, work abroad, and on-board sailing vessels.As an ideal candidate you might also have: Good communication and leadership abilities, strong teamwork skills, and adept at building customer relationships.Organization skills.Proficient in interpersonal relationships.Accurate and critical thinker.Proactive and responsible.Highly motivated to learn through classroom and field training, with a desire for rapid professional growth.Ability to work under pressure.Proficient in computer and IT skills, including the MS Office suite.Cost awareness & effectiveness.Time management skills.Sensitive to situational and cultural contexts.Business and customer focused.Why you and us?
