We are looking for a Service Engineer - Mechanical 4 Stroke to complete our pool of resources in the Mediterranean Region.
The preferred location for the position is in Esposende, but also considering from North & Central of Portugal.
The successful applicants must be authorized to work in Portugal without sponsorship.
Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Service Engineer, Mechanic, your work will include maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems related to our products or representatives' brands. On a typical day, you might be attending our external and internal customers, in Portugal or other countries through the Wärtsilä Network, to solve issues or provide proper solutions.
As a Service Engineer, Mechanics, your work will focus on these responsibilities: Carry out complex field service activities in electrical and automation related to Wartsila's products, including their commissioning, trial tests, adjustments, repair, and maintenance.Perform advanced troubleshooting on site to isolate and find root causes of failures in electrical and automation equipment. Keep track of work details and provide detailed reports, including all the necessary details (measurements, photos, way of working, investigations, etc.).Perform internal and external progress reporting on the status of assigned work.Assemble, install, test, and maintain mechanical equipment and apparatuses using hand and power tools.Proactively advise and promote available products and solutions to customers.
In this role, travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you have the willingness and flexibility to travel for jobs anytime, approximately 80% of your working time.
Requirements For The Position High School diploma or equivalent in mechanical and/or engineering-related fields.Experience and understanding of machines, 4-stroke engines, and mechanical engineering.Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical engineering and experience of industrial automation systems, applied on Marine and power plant scope.Experience working with engines and/or marine or power plant equipment.Proficiency in computer skills, including the MS Office suite.Fluent English. As an ideal candidate you might also have… Experience from Marine and Power Plant engines installations and knowledge of diesel and gas engines are a plus.Good communication and leadership skills, very good teamwork skills and customer relations.Being proactive and responsible.Motivated to learn in classroom/field trainings and quickly grow professionally.Ability to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.Available to travel on short notice, to work abroad and on board of sailing vessels.
