Squarespace is looking for a SEO Manager to join our team. We are looking for a candidate who is excited to drive organic in-audience landing growth and grow Squarespace's share of search volume. You have experience with technical SEO, multi-language SEO, content marketing planning, metadata, content gap analysis, performance reporting, and intimate knowledge of search algorithms. Experience with SaaS and website, scheduling, or domains products is a bonus.
The SEO Manager will be a part of the product marketing organization, which values driving growth of the Squarespace platform by capitalizing on key search terms while building out new keyword entry points to diversify audiences. You are passionate about the balance of driving search volume and conversion, and recognize the important role UX plays in building a successful SEO program.
This role is based in our headquarters in New York, and reports to the Associate Director of Product Marketing.
You'll Get To… Partner with marketing stakeholders, analytics, content, agency partners, product, and leadership to develop global SEO strategies through data-driven planning, opportunity assessment, and reporting to identify critical KPIs, set goals, and forecast performance for ongoing optimization.
Manage an extended team of external agency and vendor partners, as well as an internal SEO Analyst to systematize processes that ultimately increase organic channel efficiency and impact across the marketing funnel.
Develop short-term and long-term SEO strategies, including keyword list management, site architecture, and content optimization recommendations.
Plan for SGE and how traffic results will shift as a result of the evolution of AI search.
Partner with the marketing, content, analytics, and product teams to evolve how we integrate SEO recommendations into marketing project planning – from discovery and research through activation and reporting.
Keep up-to-date on the latest key industry trends and algorithm changes, as well as SEO best practices, strategies and technologies.
Report on plan results, insights, and recommendations weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
Strong leadership skills with an ability to inspire, develop, and lead a world-class team.
Have a keen eye in striking a balance for well curated content and intentional SEO practices.
Be a part of a team to plan and develop new, creative ideas to support our customers' understanding of the importance of website design.
Who We're Looking For… 7-10 years of experience in SEO and content strategy required, SEM experience a plus.
4 years of experience defining marketing processes in multi-disciplinary environments.
2 years of managing people.
Advanced knowledge of channel marketing strategies and processes to help us fortify the foundation for SEO programs.
Up to date on the latest trends in SEO best practices, Google quality guidelines, and ranking factors.
Expert with tools like Looker, Amplitude, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Framer, etc.
Deep understanding of marketing data management to support SEO channel reporting.
Experience with both self-service B2C and B2B motions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience presenting to executive audiences.
Skilled at partnering and gaining support from content, engineering, design, product, and marketing teams.

Cash Compensation Range: $135,000 – $170,000 USD The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors. In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
