We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Technical Advisor to lead the planning, execution, and oversight of programs for human and ecological risk assessments, Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), and remediation projects. This role will focus on developing risk-based solutions for sites involving complex soil and groundwater assessments. Reporting directly to the VP of Environment, you will be responsible for delivering client-specific scopes of work with precision, ensuring accurate project tracking, and producing high-quality technical reports.

Make a DifferenceProvide technical guidance on human health and ecological risk assessment projects, as well as environmental site assessments (ESAs), remediation, and reclamation programs across CanadaLead scope definition, execution planning, organization, and oversight of field and office-based programsEnsure projects adhere to health, safety, environmental, and wellness policies, and meet client-specific requirementsLead regulatory and stakeholder engagement to achieve consensus and move projects toward regulatory closureConduct site-specific risk assessments and develop risk-based remedial objectives for complex contaminated sitesCollaborate with senior leaders to formulate effective risk-based site management strategiesDevelop and guide others in the creation of clear and accurate conceptual site models for contaminated sites and environmental impact assessmentsPrepare risk management and environmental monitoring plans to evaluate the effectiveness of exposure mitigation measuresEnsure ecological risk assessment practices align with current internal and external policiesCollaborate with the risk assessment team to develop and update site models across various projectsPerform data gap analysis and plan remediation strategiesConduct literature reviews, interpreting and summarizing scientific research to address specific questions or problemsComplete exposure modeling for human and ecological receptors, with limited oversightMentor and support the career development of risk assessment staff and those involved in data collection and reportingProvide technical support to other departments and service areas as neededEnsure quality control by executing all aspects of the project in alignment with program contracts and conducting senior review of technical reportsDevelop risk-based guidelines, conduct site inspections, and maintain documentation managementEngage with multiple stakeholders to implement risk assessment, ESA, and remediation projectsUtilize Your Education and ExpertiseGraduate of a post-secondary program in environmental science, toxicology, ecology, engineering, or a related fieldA minimum of 7 years of professional experience in environmental site assessment, remediation and risk assessment, preferably in a consulting environmentThe professional must be a member in good standing or have eligibility for membership in a relevant professional organization (required)Demonstrated expertise in providing technical advisory services with sign-off authority for risk assessmentsAbility to take ownership of a project and produce high-quality work, with consideration given to deadlines, budget, and workloadWork well with others and to participate effectively in group initiatives to support the achievement of common objectivesAbility to manage multiple stakeholders and thrive in developing risk-based strategies for environmental challengesExcellent knowledge of computer-based office tools (i.e. Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerBi)Strong organization and analytical skills; detail oriented.Share in our ValuesWe look for people who have shared values when we add new members to the 360 team.
