With 105 MW of cumulative capacity in operation or under advanced development and a multi-GW commercial pipeline globally, Principle Power is the market leader in floating offshore wind technology.General DescriptionThe Structural Engineering Group splits its focus between current designs for specific site conditions and R&D to optimize the performance, fabrication, and ultimately the cost of the WindFloat in future projects that work toward commercialization of the WindFloat.Main AccountabilitiesDesign tasks for current projects including preliminary sizing of steel structures, strength, buckling and fatigue analysis, and detailing of the structures.Interface with drafters to produce packages of drawings for certification and fabrication.Follow closely the fabrication planning and execution phases to provide support as necessary.Prepare project specifications and structural design criteria.Develop initial or conceptual structural designs and layouts.Required EducationMaster of Science in a relevant field of engineering (Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)Required CompetenciesMinimum five (5) years of professional experience in the design of ship, offshore structures, or wind turbine supporting structures.Minimum one (1) year of professional experience in floating wind.Experience in using commercial FEA software such as ANSYS or equivalent.Firm and practical knowledge of class standards and relevant regulations (ABS, BV, DNVGL, and/or API).Proficiency in two (2) or more programming languages (Matlab, Python, VBA).Experience in drafting and modeling tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino).Strong technical and data analysis skills.Proficiency in English, both oral and written skills, is essential.Ability to become a key person for projects on behalf of the Structural Engineering Group.Outstanding organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.Display excellent oral and written communication skills.Possess the ability to work independently; is self-directed and motivated.Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with colleagues in a positive and collaborative manner
