General DescriptionThe Structural Engineering Group splits its focus between current designs for specific site conditions, and R&D to optimize the performance, fabrication, and ultimately the cost of the WindFloat in future projects that work toward commercialization of the WindFloat. Main AccountabilitiesDesign tasks for current projects including preliminary sizing of steel structures, strength, buckling and fatigue analysis, and detailing of the structuresInterface with drafters to produce packages of drawings for certification and fabricationFollow closely the fabrication planning and execution phases to provide support as necessaryPrepare project specifications and structural design criteriaDevelop initial or conceptual structural designs and layoutsRequired EducationMaster of Science in a relevant field of engineering (Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Materials Science, etc. )Required CompetenciesMinimum five (5) years of professional experience in the design of ship, offshore structures, or wind turbine supporting structuresMinimum one (1) year of professional experience in floating windExperience in using commercial FEA software such as ANSYS or equivalentFirm and practical knowledge of class standards and relevant regulations (ABS, BV, DNVGL, and/or API)Proficiency in two (2) or more programming languages (Matlab, Python, VBA)Experience in drafting and modeling tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino)Strong technical and data analysis skillsProficiency in English, both oral and written skills, is essentialAbility to become a key person for projects on behalf of the Structural Engineering GroupOutstanding organizational skills with excellent attention to detailDisplay excellent oral and written communication skillsPossess the ability to work independently; is- directed and motivatedOutstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with colleagues in a positive and collaborative mannerProven experience working in multidisciplinary environments within a global contextStrong time management skills, Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a- paced environmentCapacity to provide technical supervision to junior engineersOther RequirementsBe eligible to work in the required location#J-18808-Ljbffr
