At Squarespace, our backend engineers work on Product Engineering teams, which are dedicated to creating the most seamless, integrated products possible. This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Product Engineering Team Lead.

We are hiring for the following product team(s):

Pricing + Merchandising Platform: The team's mission is to establish understanding between customer value and price during purchasing and plan change processes. They aim to help customers choose and purchase the subscription plan that best aligns with their needs and goals, by applying data-driven insights to ensure customers receive value. Checkouts + Payments Platform: The team's mission is to provide an amazing checkout experience for customers purchasing Squarespace products. We aim to help customers customize and purchase the subscription plan that best aligns with their needs and goals and ensure that easily accessible payment options are available. Platform Billing: This team is part of the Monetization Platform at Squarespace. The Billing team handles customer subscriptions, contracts, and renewals, and makes financial data available to our customers downstream. You'll work on a team that's building services that handle $700MM+ and millions of customers a year. You'll Get To… Practice disciplined software engineering, writing server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and developing prototypes quickly. You will lead the development of new features and build backend services with Java. Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences. Who We're Looking For 7+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software. A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices. A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience. Cash Compensation Range: $128,500 - $231,500 USD The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
