Nitro SREs are part of the Systems Engineering team, which exists to maximize customer trust and engineering innovation. The strongest candidates will have experience in both systems and software.This role will require you to relocate to Porto, Portugal. We will offer visa sponsorship to successful candidates, provided they have a Bachelor's/Master's degree.What you'll be doing:Working within, and helping to drive, a tightly-knit engineering organization to architect, deliver, and improve technical solutions.Help define and execute improvements to Nitro's engineering infrastructure, CI/CD pipeline, and related processes.Helping to solve problems relating to mission-critical services for build, test, and delivery automation.Writing and reviewing software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Nitro cloud services.Creating tools to deploy, provision, and observe infrastructure efficiently.Helping to define, implement, and discuss new designs, architectures, standards, and best practices for large-scale distributed systems.Share an on-call rotation and be an escalation point for service incidents.What we're looking for:Experience operating at a senior level in an SRE team.Highly communicative and collaborative approach to team interaction.Experience with modern CI/CD architectures, systems, and best practices.Comfortable in at least one programming language (Go, Python, Ruby).Experience using containerization (Docker) and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes).Experience with Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their core services.Experience with securing cloud platforms and approaching engineering with a security-first mindset.Versed on SRE best practices and operational excellence for Systems Engineering.Experience with the three pillars of observability (logs, metrics, traces).Passionate about infrastructure as code (Terraform).Why Nitro?Along with our regular benefits and programs (including health, dental, vision, and retirement), we also offer initiatives to future Nitronauts:Hybrid Work: Our team embraces the hybrid work model, combining three days of in-person collaboration with two days of remote work each week.Families @ Nitro: We support team members who may be on or considering a path to parenthood.Company-Wide Recharge Week: We have a Recharge Week every January for everyone to take a break together.Nitro strongly encourages applications from everyone regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability status.
