Offer Description CoLAB NET4CO2 is seeking a highly qualified Senior Researcher to join our Business Development team and lead our Business Development Team. This team integrates the whole knowledge within Net4CO2 regarding Capture, Utilization and Geological storage, and performs a range of activities from process simulations, techno-economic analysis, life-cycle assessment, market research, client portfolio management for both internal process development and consultancy services for industry.
The Senior researcher will be responsible for the following activities:
Lead the Business Development Team, managing and developing a multidisciplinary team;
Management of R&D and commercial projects, including all the project management components, such as budgets, workplans, etc;
Develop integrated projects related with full scope of CO2 value chain, including technology surveillance, support to regulators, industry consulting and market research;
Manage industrial clients portfolio and increase NET4CO2 market share in CCUS;
Design, and optimize innovative chemical processes relevant for NetZero transition with particular focus in CCUS;
Promote cooperation with other R&D stakeholders and prepare applications to competitive funding;
Collaborate with other external stakeholders to promote industrial symbiosis and circular economy;
Supervise the interpretation of the experiments/simulations results, produce the pertinent recommendations for their evaluation, completion or abandonment and ensure project objectives are met;
Control the appraisal of the projects' technical risks, resources, and economic parameters;
Lead and consolidate the conclusions of technical studies and ensure that the necessary supporting reports and documentation are compiled;
Engage in dissemination activities related to carbon capture and utilization.

Skills/Qualifications:
Experience in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Economic Sciences or a related field;
Experience in process simulations and modelling process units;
Good knowledge of life-cycle assessment concepts and tools;
Experience in supervising junior researchers;
Ability to work in both short-term and long-term projects;
Proven track record of working in more than one project simultaneously;
Ability to define workplans and deliverables;
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems;
Interest in working towards NetZero transition;
Specific Requirements:
Experience in process simulations and modelling process units;
Good knowledge of life-cycle assessment concepts and tools;
Languages: ENGLISH, Level: Good
Additional Information The Gross Monthly remuneration for the knowledge transfer manager will range from level 33 to 49 of the Single Remuneration Table (TRU), €2206.05 to €3047.47, depending on experience demonstrated. Meal allowance and health insurance.

President of the jury: Doctor Hugo Matias, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Colab Net4CO2
Members of the jury:
Doctor Marcelo Costa – Team Leader (TL) of CO2 capture and technological development, PhD degree in Chemical Engineering
Doctor Dânia Constantino– Team Leader (TL) of the CO2 Utilization Team, PhD degree in Chemical Engineering
Alternate members
Selection methods:
In accordance with the provisions of Article 5 of the Regulation No. 57/2016 and 57/2017, the selection methods are:
a) Assessment of the candidates' scientific and curricular background (90%);
b) Interview, if the jury finds it necessary, with the best-positioned candidates after evaluation of the scientific and curricular background for clarifying some research-related issues (10%).
Evaluation of the candidates' scientific and curricular background (90%):
Under the terms of the provisions of article 5 of RJEC, from the Portuguese Decree Law 57/2016, the selection methods are:
a) (Curricular) evaluation of the candidates' professional and curricular background (CE) (0-90 points - 90%);
b) Interview (IV) (0-10 points - 10%).
The evaluation criteria to be applied will be as follows: Curricular Evaluation (CE) (for a total of 100 points):
a) Professional experience in the functional content of the competition (50 points)
b) Training in the functional area for which the competition is open (10 points)
c) Academic qualifications relevant to the competition (30 points)
d) Level of proficiency in Portuguese and English (10 points)
Only the three candidates obtaining the highest curricular assessment score, and exceeding 75 points out of 100, will be considered for final selection and may be admitted to the interview phase, aimed at clarifying aspects of the curriculum, which will be assessed according to the following criteria: Interview (IV) (for a total of 100 points):
a) Personal and relational skills (25 points)
b) Compatibility with the profile sought (50 points)
c) Demonstrated knowledge in the functional area in question (25 points)
The final classification (FC) of the candidates admitted to the interview phase will be determined by the following formula FC= 90%CE + 10%IV.
Evaluation Methodology
The jury deliberates by means of a reasoned roll-call vote in accordance with the selection criteria adopted and disclosed; abstentions are not allowed. Minutes are taken of the jury meetings, which may be held via video conference, containing a summary of what occurred, as well as the votes cast by each member and respective reasoning. After concluding the application of the selection criteria, the jury proceeds to draw up the ordered list of approved candidates with the respective classification, obtained according to the application of the published evaluation criteria. The jury's final decision is ratified by the institution's top manager, who is also responsible for deciding on hiring. The ordered list of candidates will be made available in minutes, and candidates will be notified by email of its availability.
Formalization of applications: 1. Applications must be submitted exclusively to ******, until the deadline with full name, filiation, number and date of identity card/Citizen Card or civil identification number, tax identification number, date of birth, residence and contact address, including email address and telephone contact;
2. The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
Copy of the doctoral certificate or diploma and respective degree recognition, in case it has been obtained in a foreign Higher Education;
Detailed and structured curriculum vitae containing all relevant information for the evaluation of the application;
Cover Letter demonstrating how the applicant's scientific curriculum is suitable for the open position;
Other documents that the applicant considers relevant to the assessment of their merit.
3. Applications are due by 11:59 pm local time on 31 January of 2023.
4. Non-compliance with the deadline for submission of applications, failure to submit or late submission of the application mentioned in 17.1 and of the documents mentioned will lead to rejection of the application. Applicants will be notified of the exclusion decision by e-mail for the purposes of the hearing of interested parties.
5. The jury may, whenever it deems necessary, ask the candidates to provide complementary documents for the facts mentioned in the curriculum presented, setting a deadline for the purpose.
False statements
Any false statements made by candidates will be punished in accordance with the law.
Notification of results
The results from the evaluation phase(s) of the applications will be sent via email with a receipt of delivery.

Prior hearing and deadline for the final decision: in accordance with article 121 of the Administrative Procedure Code, after being notified, the candidates have 10 working days to comment. The Jury's final decisions are made within 90 days, counting from the deadline for submitting applications.
In the event that none of the candidates demonstrates the profile indicated for the performance of the functions described above within the scope of this project, the jury reserves the right not to award the position in competition.
