Job Description
Your contribution to something big:
Leading a global team of 12 strategic buyers for mechanic components (Portugal, Germany, China, and Mexico)
Disciplinary lead for strategic buyers at Ovar
Manage Material Fields and Suppliers:
Material Field Strategy: Develop and execute Strategy in line with worldwide purchasing and business strategy
Supplier Strategy: Manage relationship and strategic development within respective categories
Taking responsibility for all purchasing processes from contracting, awarding, price negotiation, delivery escalation
KPI's:
Support management with annual budget preparation for mechanics commodities; monthly KPI follow-up and alignment
Ensure annual cost savings contribution through negotiations and strategic awardings
Initiate and execute technical cost reduction projects
Purchasing Key Account for Manufacturing Plant Ovar:
First line of contact for OvrP into the global Purchasing organization and vice versa
Ensure alignment of Purchasing and OvrP for business relevant needs
Qualifications
What distinguishes you:
Education: Master's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field required.
Personality: Open, flexible, and target group-oriented communication skills as well as a high level of resilience and assertiveness. You are a passionate leader who likes to actively contribute to business success.
Leadership: You have strong leadership and management skills and can prove experience in an international environment.
Working Practice: Structured working and entrepreneurial mindset in an international environment. High affinity for cross-departmental cooperation.
Experience and Knowledge: 10+ years of professional purchasing experience in Purchasing of direct materials at a global player in an international environment. Experience in supplier strategy development, bottleneck management, and communication across management hierarchies. Experience with successful regionalization is a plus.
Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken). German is a plus.
