Job OverviewTE Connectivity's Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE. Product Engineer for HV Contactors in Electric Vehicles.Tasks and Responsibilities:Executes product design in according to external or internal customer requirements provided until industrializationLeads the product engineering part during product development projects and leads sustaining engineering projects according to Automotive requirementsEnsures consideration of all applicable environmental restrictions during new product design and product changesDuring the product development, works cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Product Management and other team membersCreates 3D models in CAD and 2D production drawings for parts, assemblies and finished products and Engineering specifications for each product and applying ISO GPS tolerancingCreates customer drawings and customer restricted drawingsDoes product design reviews and D-FMEAs with the respective product / project teamsDefines testing plan for qualification in according to the customer and internal specificationsSupports product improvements and product modifications requested for quality or manufacturability problemsRequirements:Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical-, Electrical-, Mechatronics- or Material Engineering, Physics or similar areasBetween 7-10 years experience in Automotive Industry or similar and components for electric vehicles preferredMechanical Design using advanced 3D CAD Software like CREO, Pro E, Catia, NXApplication of geometrical tolerancing and tolerance calculationsAnalytic thinking, effective problem-solving skills and risk assessment methods by using modern analysis and design toolsGood communication skills and technical English Language skillsCompetencies & Values:Competencies: Integrity, Accountability, Inclusion, Innovation, Teamwork
