Your mission / Objectives of the position
The applicant will participate in the development of the company's green hydrogen and derived e-Fuels projects, focusing on all process engineering aspects of the projects.
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be part of our Green H2 & Derivatives Engineering Team and primarily perform process engineering and design activities related to the technical development of our green hydrogen and derived synthetic fuels projects, from early development stage to construction, ensuring these are developed and maintained to the relevant acceptable standards and applicable legislation.
Our Power-to-X production projects will be based on dedicated renewable power sources complemented by grid imported electricity, feeding large scale water electrolysis systems and synthetic fuels production processes. As a Senior Process Engineer of large scale industrial projects, you will be interacting with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. Effective communication will help you convey key process engineering principles to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Tasks and responsibilities
Execution of Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Designs and adhoc related Techno-Economic Assessments.
Execution and coordination of Basic Engineering (Pre-FEED), including the definition of the technological and process engineering requirements for the projects and engaging external engineering expertise services if required.
Coordination of Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) activities and multidisciplinary teams, involving technology providers and engineering integration companies, whilst providing guidance in process engineering, modeling & optimization of all relevant parts of the project's value chain.
Preparation of Technical Specifications of project main equipment, i.e., production, processing, compression, storage and transportation systems, and assisting in bidding and procurement processes.
Sourcing, selection and contracting of industry leading engineering integration companies.
Provision of technical support on sourcing and selection of technology licensors and coordinate the respective Design Package during FEED stage.
Track and gain expertise on state of the art and technical developments in the industry, including related targets and legislation, aiming to support the definition of the technological and engineering requirements for the projects and with it the optimization and future performance and efficiency of the assets.
Provision of technical assistance during construction phase, cooperating with and supporting when required the EPC management team in liaison with all related external stakeholders and for all project related technical subjects.
Support junior process engineers, providing technical guidance, training and verification of the work.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Demonstrable experience of minimum 12 years in the process design and engineering of oil & gas or heavy chemical industry projects.
Knowledge of process related standards.
Experience in process simulations.
Knowledge of process engineering software systems (Aveva Pro II, Aspen Hysys, others).
English proficiency.
Desirable Skills
Experience in green hydrogen processes;
Experience in one or more of the following processes: Methanol, Haber-Bosch Synthesis, Fischer-Tropsch, Hydrocracking;
Other languages skills (Portuguese, German, Spanish, Italian).
