The team is responsible for the end delivery of the data network services in SAP's Internal Corporate Network. SAP is looking to further strengthen our Office Network support team within our Lisbon location. We are looking for an experienced network engineer with solid knowledge across a variety of network technologies with a focus on global remote access (GRA) using a combination of premises hardware and a cloud-based solution.Your primary tasks include the design, deployment, operation, reporting and continuous improvement of these remote access solutions using managed service providers. Close cooperation with other Regional Core Network Services team colleagues will be required to ensure that the network infrastructure is delivered in accordance with business requirements and global standards.The Role:Operation and development of the GRA platform on a day-to-day basis using various managed services for execution. The position requires strong analytical skills in combination with a genuine service-oriented approach including the ability to anticipate changes and present recommendations to Management. Flexible and innovative thinking with the ability to identify dependencies among complex enterprise network services and defining appropriate actions.What you`ll do:• Coordinate the operation, installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of remote access equipment using 3rd party implementation staff. This is NOT a single person operation.• Ensure compliance of network infrastructure to global standards.• Ensure that service and operations level agreements are met. Responsible for third/fourth line incident support. Work closely with our L1-L3 Managed Service Providers and ensure the service meets business requirements. Develop and report useful metrics to judge platform and provider performance.• Provide subject matter expertise in the design and operations of network services with a focus on a cloud-based Palo Alto networks solution (Global Protect) and an on-premises implementation (F5).• Interact with other peer technology teams as needed. Work with global teams to investigate and evaluate new network technologies. Design and deploy solutions with a global mindset.• Experience in other enterprise level operations (LAN, WLAN, DNS, Security, etc) a plus.• Deploy and maintain executive, developer and other special networks, requiring delicate handling.What you bring:Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, or equivalent working knowledge.Technical:• Operation of an enterprise grade VPN solution tailored for end users.• VPN design, routing and Switching or proven equivalent knowledge.• Knowledge of design and operations of Layer 2/Layer 3 routing and switching, preferably Cisco Networks.• Working knowledge of firewall routing configurations desired. Direct knowledge of Palo Alto a plus, with experience in Prisma cloud product a huge plus.• Familiar to strong knowledge of firewall policy concepts not required, but a plus.• Analytical thinking and problem solving, with autonomous and proactive working behavior.Interpersonal:• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced and multicultural organization.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language.• Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.• Flexible attitude towards working hours to work as part of the global team.
