The Role Link is a key part of the Veeva system, aimed at "Connecting life sciences and key people to improve research and care." Our product provides real-time academic, social, and medical data to create comprehensive profiles, helping life-science partners find experts to speed up new therapeutics' development and adoption.
As part of the AI team, your main task will be to develop LLM-based agents specialized in extracting detailed information about Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in healthcare. You'll build an end-to-end pipeline to analyze unstructured websites, and medical documents, and enable semantic searches for KOL data across various languages.
Using cloud infrastructure, you'll create models for information extraction and collaborate with software developers to deploy them. We aim to set new industry standards by training ML models with input from 2000+ curators, ensuring quality and scalability across different regions, languages, and specialties.
You can work remotely from anywhere in Portugal, the UK, or Spain, but must reside in one of these countries and be legally authorized to work there without visa or relocation support from Veeva. \n What You'll DoDevelop and manage ML infrastructures and CI/CD pipelines to support multiple data productsBuild fully automated, scalable, cost-effective, and fault-tolerant solutions in AWS to process billions of recordsProvide engineering mentorship and guidance to data scientistsDevelop LLM-based agents capable of performing function calls and utilizing tools such as browsers for enhanced data interaction and retrievalCollaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and product/operation teams Requirements3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or relevant jobs2+ years of experience in cloud development, ideally in AWSProfessional in ML operationalization, including CI/CD pipelines and workflow/model management, stacks such as Airflow and MLfLowProfessional in distributed computing platforms (Ray and Spark) as well as Kubernetes for inference Solid understanding and experience in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX,...)Hands-on experience in in-house training and inference of LLMsStrong collaboration skills as well as verbal and written communication skills Nice to HaveExperience in the life/health science industry, notably pharmaStrong theoretical knowledge of Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, or Reinforcement LearningExperience with NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with architectural choices, particularly for ML systemsLeadership skills and a solid network to help in hiring and growing the team Perks & BenefitsWork anywherePersonal development budget (equal to 2% of your salary and in addition to that)Veeva charitable giving programFitness reimbursementLife insurance + pension fund
