Join our team in Porto as our new Senior Indirect Tax Specialist and make your mark on our organization! The Senior Indirect Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing and advising on indirect tax matters, including Value-Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), and other indirect taxes. The role will involve providing technical expertise, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for tax savings and optimization. In your new role you will be: Responsible for Indirect TAX compliance (VAT & GST) for various companies in Germany. Ensure review, proper classification and treatment of VAT and GST-related transactions. Monitor and ensure compliance with VAT laws, regulations, and guidelines, staying up-to-date with changes and updates. Prepare and review accurate and complete VAT returns and other VAT-related reports. Ensure timely submission of VAT returns to the relevant tax authorities, meeting deadlines and avoiding penalties. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of VAT returns, including supporting documentation and calculations. Identify and assess VAT-related risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize potential exposures. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to optimize VAT compliance and reduce risks. Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, accounting, procurement and logistics, to ensure VAT compliance and minimize risks. Communicate VAT-related information and updates to stakeholders, including management, employees, and external parties. You have a structured, self-driven working style and a strong business mindset. You keep the big picture in mind and enjoy taking the initiative, with analytical and problem-solving attitude. You are best equipped for this task if you have: A degree in Accounting, Taxes, Finance or similar field of studies. Experience in Indirect Taxes, Accounting or a similar role, with a focus on VAT, in an international and multicultural environment. Experience of ERP systems, such as SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (particularly Excel). Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Flexibility to identify and adopt process changes that increase efficiency and compliance.
