Job Title: Senior Data Quality Assurance Analyst

Introduction to role:
Join our Global Business Services (GBS) Data Assurance team at AstraZeneca, a place built on innovation and creativity. We are looking for a Senior Data Quality Assurance Analyst who will play a crucial role in ensuring that our master, reference, and transactional data is fit for purpose. This role is pivotal in identifying, investigating, and resolving data issues affecting planning, reporting, and other Finance processes.
Accountabilities:
As a Senior Data Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for investigating data quality issues, defining manual adjustments to temporarily correct time-critical issues, and working with users, data stewards, and operations teams to ensure fixes are applied correctly. You will also contribute to improvements in tools, methods, processes, documentation, and controls within the team. Your proactive, analytical, and investigative mindset will be key in using data quality reporting tools, system reconciliations, and direct data analysis to proactively identify potential data issues for resolution.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Experience of working with financial data and systems, preferably SAP FICO
Background in data analysis and issue investigation in a complex data and system environment
Experience in the maintenance and use of common financial data ( costs centres, profit centres, chart of accounts, transactional postings)
Good understanding of financial processes
Good understanding of data quality and data management principles
Proactive, analytical and investigative mindset
Proficient in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Accounting background
Experience of working in a complex global organisation
Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge
Experience using data quality profiling and monitoring tools
Experience in querying data using SQL
Experience creating reports
Experience supporting Finance month end processes, reporting and planning
