As part of the Transported by Maersk Platform, you'll focus on streamlining, optimizing, and automating our transportation network end-to-end with advanced software solutions.
You'll join the Scheduling team, where you'll design, build, and maintain mathematical models and solution algorithms to drive automation of our core business capability. As a decision scientist, you'll play a central role in designing and implementing core components of decision support software products for our business.
You'll be part of a strong decision and data science community working with multiple engineering teams to build applications for the Scheduling domain.
You'll be a key player in designing decision support tools for core business processes using state-of-the-art models and algorithms. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to ensure that the tools you build fit into business processes to enable smarter decisions and embed core decision support tools into modern cloud-based software products that support our business in planning and executing our global network.

Key responsibilities:
As a decision scientist on the Scheduling team, your key responsibilities will include:
· Designing, improving, and maintaining custom implemented models and algorithms to enable automation of Scheduling.
· Working closely with business and technology stakeholders to identify how decision support can deliver business value in key processes that drive superior execution of our network.
· Establishing a data-driven approach to decision support by analyzing expected outcomes during the product lifecycle from idea to MVP to final product.
· Building frameworks to evaluate outcomes of new models before they are introduced.
· Introducing robust optimization techniques in the volatile world of global supply chains.
· Continuously staying up-to-date on relevant technologies and using this knowledge to push the team forward.
We're looking for someone who is:
· Having at least 4 years of hands-on experience in Decision Science or similar with a focus on decision support systems within complex operational environments such as logistics, supply chain, or related fields
· A team player who collaborates well across business and technology
· Has a scientific mindset comfortable with brainstorming, idea generation, and prototyping to validate theoretical hypotheses preferably on production data if available.
· Interested in driving business outcomes through technology
· Fluency with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, C++, or C#. Having more programming language proficiencies is a plus
· Algorithmic software engineering skills are crucial as performance at scale is essential.
· Proficiency with graph algorithms, mathematical optimization, and heuristics is required.
