Senior Data Analyst (Forecast Lead)

kencko is seeking a freelance or full-time Senior Data Analyst (Forecast Lead) to join our Business Intelligence team.

Location: Portugal, remote

Main goals:

You will provide key insights and projections to inform decision-making across multiple business units. Your main responsibilities will be to develop, refine, and present item-level sales forecasts, evaluate and monitor forecast accuracy, and develop the forecasting roadmap as the company grows and evolves. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to drive business growth, working with large datasets from our retail and D2C channels to understand trends, forecast demand, and ultimately help kencko deliver the right products at the right time to our customers.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including P&L owners, operations, and finance, to produce accurate and actionable item-level sales forecasts.

Develop and maintain manual, assumptions-based forecasting models as well as utilizing machine learning techniques to predict retail and D2C sales.

Use DBT and SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency across forecasting efforts.

Drive efficiencies by using AI/LLMs to automate processes and improve the productivity of forecasting models.

Present and communicate forecast results to key stakeholders, providing insight into trends, risks, and opportunities.

Maintain and update advanced Google Sheets to support key operational needs and manage inventory requirements.

Develop deep insights into customer purchasing behaviors, drawing on experience in the FMCG sector to interpret data.

Evaluate and monitor forecast accuracy, providing regular updates and implementing improvements as needed.

Develop and refine the forecasting roadmap, adapting it as the company grows and evolves.

Experience you bring:

3+ years experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in an FMCG or retail/D2C environment.

Proven experience with Python for data analysis, including building and refining machine learning models.

Strong skills in DBT and SQL, with an understanding of best practices for data modeling and transformation.

Proficiency in Google Sheets for data analysis and presentation.

Experience using AI tools and large language models to drive your own productivity and efficiency.

Excellent communication skills: capable of presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail, with a passion for leveraging data to solve complex business problems.

Nice to have:

Experience working within a startup or rapidly growing company.

Knowledge of inventory and supply chain planning tools.

Familiarity with statistical forecasting techniques and data-driven decision-making.
