.Senior Clinical Assay Development Scientist | IVD | DiagnosticsFull-timeWe're looking for an awesomeSenior Clinical Assay Development Scientist | IVD | Diagnostics to join our team on our journey to revolutionize personalized medicine About your Role Lead the identification, validation, and application of novel blood biomarkers for disease prediction, prognosis and treatment stratificationOversee the planning and execution of large-scale clinical studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and ethical standards.Analyze and interpret data generated from biomarker discovery and validation studies, effectively communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Provide scientific and strategic guidance to internal and external stakeholders on biomarker development, clinical study design, and regulatory requirements specific to photonics and AI-based diagnosticsEstablish and maintain collaborations with external partners, such as academic institutions, industry experts, and clinical centers, to support biomarker discovery and clinical validation studies.This job requires relocation to Porto, Portugal in a hybrid working environment.Master's Degree in a relevant Life Sciences field (biology, medicine, biomedical engineering, molecular biology, others) (Bonus: PhD)+ 3 years relevant experience in the development/validation of Human Blood Biomarkers(Bonus: Spectral or AI Biomarkers)Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in blood biomarker discovery, validation, and clinical translation (Bonus: Analytical Assay development)Understanding of regulatory requirements for clinical diagnostics (Bonus: FDA/CLIA/GCP standards).Proficiency in applying statistical analysis and data interpretation methods to biomarker discovery and validation studies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, present scientific findings to technical and non-technical audiences and establish external partnerships.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment that may require adapting quickly to new directions or taking the initiative and ownership of key workstreamsA passion for innovation, a willingness to learn, and a solid commitment to scientific excellence and integrity.Interested in working hard towards solving one of the century's biggest challenges in HealthcareBonus Skills:Understanding of Optics (spectroscopy, Raman, FTIR or similar techniques)Understanding of AI (machine learning, deep learning)Experience in IVD blood assay developmentSuccessufull Fast-Growing startup experience (Very relevant plus)iLoF in a nutshell As personalized medicine becomes the norm, scientists, patients, and healthcare systems worldwide face massive barriers in providing the right treatment to the right patient
