Objectives of this Role:
Participate in discussions with stakeholders to understand business needs and help translate them into technical solutions, bridging the gap between functional requirements and backend architecture.
Take ownership of key backend components, ensuring high standards in design, code quality, and system performance.
Work autonomously within an agile team, demonstrating critical thinking and accountability, and proactively breaking down large tasks into manageable, actionable work items.
Contribute valuable insights in architectural discussions to guide the evolution of complex systems and ensure alignment with long-term goals.
Balance custom development and third-party tools to recommend strategic solutions that fit business needs and technical requirements.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust APIs and backend services that support both mobile and desktop clients, ensuring consistency and reliability across platforms.
Engage in requirement analysis sessions with business stakeholders, demonstrating an ability to translate functional needs into technical plans and actionable tasks.
Proactively break down large projects into individual, manageable tasks, self-managing their implementation while actively seeking assistance or flagging dependencies and conflicts when necessary.
Write, test, and deploy high-quality code, collaborating with a self-managed team to align on best practices, dependencies, and project milestones.
Set up and manage automated testing frameworks to meet business needs and ensure reliable regression testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong foundation in computer science principles, software architecture, and best practices in backend development.
Java
Spring Framework
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, working collaboratively to balance functional needs with architectural integrity.
Significant experience in self-managing workstreams, breaking down complex tasks, and implementing solutions with minimal oversight.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong critical thinking skills to anticipate challenges and proactively resolve them.
Expertise in agile methodologies and experience with self-managed teams, exhibiting ownership and accountability in achieving project goals.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Experience in DevOps practices or environments, with familiarity in CI/CD processes and cloud-based deployments.
Front-end experience is a plus, enhancing collaboration in full-stack teams.
Prior experience designing RESTful APIs for mobile and web applications.
